(Courtesy of NFL/Twitter)

The 55th annual NFL Super Bowl is set to take stage this Sunday at 6:30 PM, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and there are a lot of things to look forward to in this year’s mega-event.

For starters, this year is the first time the team from the city hosting the event will be participating, given the match is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers will be expected to have some home support since around 22,000 fans will be allowed to attend the game with health measures in place (7,000 vaccinated healthcare workers are invited along with roughly 15,000 unvaccinated members of the general public).

The storylines run deep this year. The main matchup is set between the starting quarterbacks. On one side, there is Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is arguably the best player in the league currently and is headed to his second straight Super Bowl, after winning it all last year.

On the other side, there is Tom Brady. Brady is arguably the greatest football player to ever live, and he is adding a 10th Super Bowl appearance to his otherworldly decorated resume. If Tampa Bay wins on Sunday, it’ll be his seventh championship.

Around the quarterbacks, both teams are very solid on all fronts. The Chiefs are loaded offensively with guys like Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill leading the pack. The defense is also solid and can hold it’s own against an elite team.

The Buccaneers are loaded with receivers. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski are an elite group and it masks their flaws in the running game. Their defense is also spectacular and makes up an incredibly well rounded team.

Kansas City looks to secure their third championship in franchise history, while the Bucs go for title number two.

The 55th annual NFL Super Bowl is set to take stage this Sunday at 6:30 PM, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and there are a lot of things to look forward to in this year’s mega-event.
