As of Feb 5., the NBA has rescheduled 24 regular season games because of COVID-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, 25 of the league\u2019s 30 teams have had a game rescheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five teams haven\u2019t had a game moved yet: Brooklyn Nets<\/a>, Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>, Los Angeles Clippers<\/a>, Toronto Raptors<\/a>, New York Knicks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, these five teams are all in big markets, although the Raptors are playing their home games in Tampa, Florida this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans can go to https:\/\/www.nba.com\/news\/postponed-games-2020-21-index<\/a> to keep up with game postponements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the NBA’s website<\/a>, the league is “consulting with the CDC and leading medical experts with expertise in infectious disease and public health.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The NBA is coordinating its responses with teams, focusing on potential approaches to evaluation, testing, and quarantine of players and team staff, in addition to promoting the community mitigation and prevention strategies recommended by the CDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NBA has already postponed more games than the NFL did in its entire season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For context, each NBA team plans to play 72 games, NFL teams played 16 regular season games; no playoff games were postponed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an ESPN article by Brian Windhorst, “the league has discussed having players receive COVID-19 vaccines to educate and influence the public regarding their safety and effectiveness.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
