This blog post will depict a day in the life of remote broadcast engineer Chris Broadley, who works for CTV News Toronto. The photos taken provide an inside look on Broadley’s job. As a broadcast engineer, his job involves setting up, operating and maintaining the electrical equipment for radio and television broadcasts, concerts and sound recordings. The five photos will show where Broadley works, how he starts and ends his job and how he uses the equipment. Some of these pictures were taken outside of the Eaton Centre, while others were taken in Broadley’s truck. Some challenges to this were the weather and the timing. It was very cold and there was a lot of snow and ice on the roads, which made it harder than normal to get to the Eaton Centre. Additionally, it was dark outside. However, these were not such big problems as most of the photos were taken inside the truck.
